Happy July Fourth in Harrisburg, NC

Eating Tour de France style

That is how we roll in this house.

Grandma and Papa are back!!!

After having been gone a loooong time (forever according to the kids), the grandparents are back.  And being filled in on 6 weeks worth of information.  Non stop gab fest at our house!

Kayak lessons

Rich is taking whitewater kayak lessons at the US National Whitewater Center.  We looooove it there and go frequently.  So we thought it would be a great idea to go out, watch part of his lesson and then have some fun.  Unfortunately for the three of us, he practiced rolling the whole time we watched.  So we went and had some fun.  But not before we took some pictures!

This is what happens when Terefech is bored.  Yep, had to post that picture.  That one will be in the graduation slide show, the wedding slide show, any slide show I can put it in.

The kids were a tad disappointed to not see Rich braving the whitewater but maybe next time.  They were not disappointed that since it was another murky day in the Carolinas that meant no lines.  We zipped over and over and over with no waiting!  Wahooooooo!

School stuff

This year I started a new school work strategy.  They put their stuff in their "cube,"  I looked at it then put in into the bin(see below).  So, at the end of the year I did a preliminary purge.  I got rid of the math worksheets, etc.  I then left it to them to go through and sort out what they thought should get kept.  Interesting to see who is the keeper and who is the purger!

Just pictures

Declan's is admiring himself for figuring out how to make a helix out of Lego.  That is our budding scientist!
They love the pool sooo much!  If you could only convince Declan to put his face in the water...
Those are my toes...cool aren't they.  I am so boring in every aspect of my life, I try to be toe exciting.  That is as good as it gets!
Joint drawing by T and D.  A race car race with collision!
Date night for Mama and Declan.  Pizza and playing chess.  I won the chess game but he beat me in air hockey.

Dinner with old friends

Always love the chance to get together with old and new friends.  We got to hang out with the Ginns on their way to Atlanta (Pat goes to Kuwait tomorrow!), the Spragues (who we don't see enough!) and the Fowlers, our new friends through Cookies for Kids Cancer.  It is hard to believe that I knew 4 of these people back when I was 15 or 16 years ago.  Can't wait til I see them again!
